So today I want to ask you a question, which is are you hiding when it comes to your business and Facebook page? 😳 I know that this is something that a lot of people do, but showing YOU is so ridiculously important and something that you really need to start doing if you want to see results! I know that it can be scary at first, so I want you to start by taking really small steps to show you on your page and as your confidence grows you can build on this!
We need to remember that people still buy from people and our ideal customers absolutely love to see the person behind the business. So showing YOU is such an amazing way to get them to really connect with you and to build know, like and trust. Once you have this connection, it is so powerful and they are much more likely to convert into a paying customer!
As well as being a bit scared, another common thing I hear is ‘I’m so boring – no one wants to see what I’m doing.’ This is what I used to think when it came to showing me on my page too! I’d say exactly the same thing – I’m so boring – no one wants to see me! But the thing is people are naturally very nosey (especially us ladies 😂) and they do want to see you on your page! In fact our ideal customers absolutely LOVE to see us, the person behind the business, as it gives them the opportunity to get to know us better and to really connect.
Also, what is boring to you will not be boring to them! Think about when you go on holiday or on a day trip to somewhere new – you take a zillion photo’s as everything is so exciting and new! This is exactly how your ideal customers will feel when you give them a peek into your world – you see it every day and it’s your norm, so of course it will be boring to you – but to them they will love to see it and love to take a closer look into your world!
So showing you on your page is so ridiculously important as it’s such a powerful way to build know, like and trust with your ideal customers and as we know when they have this they are far more likely to buy from you.
Here are a few ideas for ways you can show YOU on your page:
✅ Use a photo of yourself for your page profile image. This is such a great and easy way to help people to connect with you more.
✅ Share behind the scenes posts of something you are working on or a new product you have coming out? What exciting things you are up to this week that you could share with your fans?
✅ Share a photo about your family life, maybe your little ones or your pets and say what you’ve been up to. Or share your hobbies and ask them what theirs are!
✅ Post a selfie showing people how you start your day or a photo of your coffee in your favourite cup. Or show your office space and ask them to share a photo of where they work.
✅ Share your struggles and show vulnerability! People really relate and resonate with you when you do this. So this is an amazing way to build a strong connection with your ideal customers.
✅ Try writing in a friendly conversational tone – so try and write as though you are chatting face to face with your ideal customer. Are there certain words or phrases you always use? If so use them!
✅ Share your story! So tell them why you started your business, why you do what you do and how you have got to where you are today.
✅ Post your favourite thing about running your own business and ask the favourite thing about their business or job.
✅ Post a welcome post with a selfie or photo of you and pin it to the top of your page. Introduce who you are, what you do and how you can help people.
This all helps to show that there is an actual person behind the business – someone that your ideal customer can really connect with and relate to. When your ideal customer form this connection with you, you will definitely stand out to them and they will be much more likely to buy from you! 😊
